Projects and Tasks

Published July 07, 2026

Creating a project

Navigate to Workspace > Projects and click New Project. Give it a name and description, and optionally link it to a client - a contact or a company from CRM - so the project can later be shared through the client portal. A project's status moves through planning, in progress, on hold, completed, and archived, and you can add or remove team members from the project page.

Adding tasks to a project

Add a task directly from a project's page, or create one from Workspace > Tasks and assign it to the project using the Project field. Each task has a title, an optional description, a due date, a priority (low, medium, high, or urgent), and an assignee. A task can also mark itself visible to clients, which controls whether it shows up in that project's portal.

Filtering and finding tasks

The Tasks list filters by status, priority, assignee, due date (overdue, due today, or due this week), project, and source - useful when a task was created automatically rather than by hand. By default the list shows only open and in-progress tasks; switch the Status filter to see completed or cancelled ones, or All. The Dashboard surfaces your own overdue and due-soon tasks without any filtering needed.

Completing work

Mark a task Complete from its detail page or straight from the completion controls shown while you're working through a list; reopening it puts it back to open if it turns out there's more to do. Completing every task in a project doesn't change the project's own status - mark the project itself Complete (or Archive it) from the project page when the whole engagement wraps up.
