Comments and Notifications

Adding a comment

Every task and every project has a comment box on its page. Type your update, type @ to bring up a list of teammates and mention one directly, and post it - it appears right away with the rest of the discussion for that task or project. Comments can carry file attachments alongside the text.

Marking a comment visible to clients

Check Visible to clients before posting to make that comment appear in the project's client portal - see The Client Portal. Leave it unchecked and the comment stays internal, visible to your team only. This is set per comment, so an internal discussion and a client-facing update can sit side by side on the same task.

What triggers a notification

You're notified when someone mentions you by name in a comment, when a client posts a comment through their portal on a project you belong to, and when a client submits a task request through the portal. You're never notified about your own comments or requests.

Where notifications show up

A bell icon in the top bar shows your unread count and opens a dropdown of your recent notifications so you can jump back to the related work. Workspace > Activity shows the same underlying comments as a browsable feed, with a filter to show only the ones that mention you.

Managing what you've seen

Open a notification to mark it read, or use Mark all read in the dropdown to clear your unread count in one step.
