Every task and every project has a comment box on its page. Type your update, type @ to bring up a list of teammates and mention one directly, and post it - it appears right away with the rest of the discussion for that task or project. Comments can carry file attachments alongside the text.
Check Visible to clients before posting to make that comment appear in the project's client portal - see The Client Portal. Leave it unchecked and the comment stays internal, visible to your team only. This is set per comment, so an internal discussion and a client-facing update can sit side by side on the same task.
From Workspace, you're notified when someone mentions you by name in a comment, when a client posts a comment through their portal on a project you belong to, when a client submits a task request through the portal, and when a task is assigned to you. You're never notified about your own comments or requests.
The same notification center covers the rest of EmpireVault too - ticket assignments, new leads, deal stage changes, quote outcomes, and more. See Notifications and the Daily Digest for the full picture, including the optional daily digest email and which notification types you can switch off.
A bell icon in the top bar of every tool - not just Workspace - shows your unread count and opens a dropdown of your recent notifications so you can jump back to the related work. Workspace > Activity shows the underlying comments as a browsable feed, with a filter to show only the ones that mention you.
Open a notification to mark it read, or use Mark all read in the dropdown to clear your unread count in one step.
