The Client Portal

Sharing a project

Open a project and click Share with Client. Enter the client's email, an optional display name, and how long the link should stay valid, then click Send Portal Link. EmpireVault emails the client an invitation to a private link built just for them - no EmpireVault account or password required. Sharing a project gives that link access to the project's client-visible tasks and any comments marked visible to clients; anything you keep internal stays out of view.

Managing client access

A project's Client Access list shows everyone you've invited, when they last opened the link, and when their access expires. Regenerate a link if it needs to be reissued, or revoke it to cut off access immediately - both take effect right away.

What the client sees

The portal opens to an overview of the project: its status, counts of completed, in-progress, and remaining tasks, and a feed of recent updates. From there the client can view the full task list or open an individual task to see its own comments.

What the client can do

Clients can leave a comment on the project overview or on a specific task, and can request a new task with a title, description, and priority. A requested task goes in as pending approval, so your team reviews it before it becomes an active task on the board. To guard against abuse, comment and task-request submissions through the portal are rate-limited.

If a link no longer works

A link that has expired shows the client a short message asking them to contact your team for a new one. A link you have revoked simply stops working.
